NEW FORMAT RULE & PESTERCHUM

Hello everyone!

I've gathered you all here, today, on a serious note. Or rather, a new ruling that must be put into place given previous events. As you all know, Scribs is a very small dreamwidth-based game with a very relaxed pace. It should be possible for every player to, at all times, be able to track and follow the activity of their fellow players with relative ease. Despite that there are many mediums for doing so, after discussion amongst the players in the recent Feedback post and SotG and then discussion amongst the mods the following rules will go into effect:

• All Scrib canon-activity must take place on the Scrib communities; via posts made by players and replies to said posts.

• Pesterchum is explicitly banned from being used for canon activity.

This is a decision made from considerations given the relaxed pace of the game, the high probability of information not appearing in the community, the low readability of non-DW logs, the exclusivity of interactions, and the concerns of players and mods. Pesterchum may still be utilized for memes or various activities, of course, but only of a non-canon nature. With how small Scrib is, it is notably alienating to have entirely private interactions that are declared canon. We're all in this together!

Players are always welcome to utilize whatever mediums they wish for contact, for plotting, or for various reasons. Now, however, please be certain that activity and interactions desired to be Canon appear in the community properly for all to see and read. So if you have anything happen via Pesterchum, please make it canon via tags! Or play it out on the community so you don't need to play it out twice.

Lastly, unfortunately, the following reminder must be delivered:
You are not your character. We're all adults and we expect you to act as such. Everyone had Some Adult Figure teach us manners and how to play nice with others, and the same goes for the internet world. Just because characters develop an antagonistic relationship doesn't mean the other player hates you, and any issues are to be brought to the moderators for help in settling manners quickly, efficiently, and above all else, politely. We'll respect your privacy and do what we can to make sure no hostilities exist to make anyone else uncomfortable, but at the same time, don't expect us to go to ridiculous lengths. This is a group activity and everyone needs to cooperate. Airing your issues to a public forum will not get anyone anywhere and only prove to sour the game's atmosphere, so please look before you leap. We're here to help.
