MINGLE #4
Use this post to mingle and meet with each other! For the coding to make your tags MSPA-style use the box below:
This mingle is backdated to AFTER the previous mingle posts, but before the game launches! It's primarily to build interactions between the new players and existing ones, so old tagging new is highly encouraged! To old players, don't worry too much about keeping track of your newer interactions when tagging, but mentions of the game should be kept to a minimum, or at least the true nature of it.
Apart from that, there are no real guidelines for this post, so tag away and be merry! Comment with your character's name in the subject and then tag into others' threads!

In trends.
Moving on, though.
Steampunk is actually an entire science fiction/fantasy sub-genre. It takes its name from the fact that the source of industrial technology of the setting is, by and large, based on steam power.
Typically, it's set in 19th century, British Victorian era, or American "Wild West", as a call back to the actual legacy of steam during that time period.
Despite being inspired by a past age, there's a lot of retro-futuristic technologies featured in entertainment media.
In keeping with the era, whichever it might be, the culture, architecture, art, and, most importantly, fashion, are appropriately tailored to fit.
This often means goggles.
Lots of goggles.
To that point, a lot of people will throw on an old blouse that's been sitting at the bottom of their grandmother's closet, pants that should not have been patterned much less sewn, much less worn by anyone, but as long as they have the goggles, this will pass as an acceptable ensemble.
How woefully uninspired.

it sounds like the next big thing since ren faire costuming /ohboy
i didn't realise that this was so late is what i meant to say god /fail
It's been a thing for quite a while, actually.
Certainly more popular these days, but it's enjoyed a healthy following for some time.
So, if you're trying to add to your Into It Before It Got Cool CredTM, I'll save you the trouble and let you know that ship has sailed.
fffffffff no worries. ever.
eh, just some dumbasses at school strutting around like they just discovered it and its the next big thing, y'know? anachronistic costuming ain't my thing /wellnotsincethatrevolutionarywarfashionphase
i will still continue to be ahead of the curve my cool cred is still more relevant than the Kardashians /itshowiroll
/pretends that this isn't late as fuq though you don't have to reply to it if you don't want to! o/
Well, if ever anyone was going to get into it on their own, it would be around now, unless we want to seriously entertain the idea that having your parents dress you in steampunk is a viable way to earn more cred.
You say that like it's hard.
/makes equally reply oh yeah
point. but i am still so far ahead that im like hanging around next week and chilling out by the time the rest of you guys hit it chronologically
