[ooc: Short, dumb AU set on a game-less earth with Sparks and Chrysi both of age and yeah yeah. I wrote this up in like five minutes but I like it so here.

Rated: PG-13 for implied sexual shit?]

It would be a lie for Sparks to even suggest he didn't allow that man in the bushes to take the picture. Of course, he tells that lie—honeyed and falsely-horrified-- but it is a lie. Easily spoken, though, because how could he have seen that mustachioed hooligan in the bushes right between the east wing balcony, eyes scorpion-sting sharp as he waited for the perfect moment? That's crazy talk. Sparks' back was to the window, after all, as he gently urged the young heiress' thighs open over his lap. He'd have to have planted the paparazzi (who made him pay twice the usual, the scoundrel) and who even does that? Jennifer Garner? No no, it was mere coincidence the two were caught borderline copulating with perfect autumn night lighting. It was simply a good day to wear 'guyliner' and that vest that makes him look twice as well built. That's all. Pure luck he tilted his head to that casually Grecian angle that highlights the best (right) side of his nose. His lips were obscenely parted to kiss at his lady love's lips.

She had to believe him. Okay, maybe not 'had to' but she'd look a little touched in the head if she refused. Nobody would go to those lengths for tabloid cover attention across the nation.

Unless—you know. Unless that's how they expressed their affection. Unless they were the type of man that would never propose, but might want the whole world to know who he'd fallen for. Then, perhaps, it could be construed as some gesture of utmost reverence. Someone who perceived love in such a public way might find it a form of doting to point out—loudly, in the only supermarket that didn't regularly recognize him and his girlfriend—that they looked really good together even if being caught in such a compromising position was traumatizing and in no way what he wanted.

But, just in case, Sparks is going to be extra careful and pay Jimmy to take the next four months off before he snaps another portrait of Chrysi with that look on her face that makes Sparks' heart burst. Being private can be romantic, too.

To some people.
