Re: Activity?
personally, i am not in favor of using pesterchum for main comm activity. it's always said on the log info pages that activity should generally be kept on the comm, and i'm in full support of that - however, that's not to say you guys can't use pesterchum! but i don't find it efficient for large memos, as was brought up earlier. timezone reasons aside because that's already been touched on, i'm not even going to lie: during the large group memo the other night, i felt a little bit left out because i was trying to discuss things happening in-game and it kind of... got derailed into silliness after a while, so i sort of just sat there like, welp. so if we're going to have group memos on PC, there should definitely be some topic of discussion and a general direction for the conversation to go.
now, using it for one-on-one logs, or even for very small memos (like three or four max), then there's not really a problem. there is the issue with formatting the logs for posting, which when it comes down to it... is that harder or easier than formatting comments on DW? is it worth the time? in my opinion, not really.
but, if you're (as in a general you) comfortable with it, then there's no reason why you can't use PC. i would still strongly prefer most IC interaction to be on-comm, though, simply because this is a DW-based game and if things are happening on PC, then how can the rest of us see them? i can't speak for everyone else, but when reading homestuck proper, i was one of those people that generally skims pesterlogs because they can just be SO. UNWIELDLY. and just difficult to read in general, particularly if there are several conversations happening at once.
tl;dr i feel like using pesterchum on a frequent basis would just wind up complicating things more than they really should be.
i had some other stuff to say about the other points brought up in this thread but go figure, i've forgotten most of it. (i really should not check my inbox at 8 am when i'm just going to go back to sleep, sigh.) so for now i'll just touch on the pesterchum and come back to the other stuff later when i remember it :|
