CURRENT SOTG POST Howdy, everyone! We've got a new glitch happening this week, but we've also got a question regarding a new SotG format for all of you! There'll be two replies to this post, one for each of those, but first, let's review what's been happening in the game! NEW GLITCH

Oh, Phaest, why would you do this to us? As you all should know, Scrib as a whole is incredibly glitchy and prone to horrible problems because, and let's quote: "the game was far from polished when it became time to actually start it" Well, it looks like another glitch has manifested itself. This time, however, it's a little more minor, but it'll be a definite reason for your characters to be a little concerned. We'd like it if each of you could decide on a minor glitch that your character will encounter, then clear it with us, and then proceed onward with it! What we mean by a minor glitch could be any of the following, or a suggestion of your own!: • A part of their planet that is simply not rendered. (Scary world holes could result for a bit, oh dear!) • An NPC or Consort of theirs keeps glitching in and out of existence. • An NPC gives the player one (1) item, but it glitches into x999 (ie: "GUYS A SALAMANDER GAVE ME A MUSHROOM BUT NOW I HAVE A THOUSAND OF THEM HELP I'M DROWNING IN MUSHROOMS") • Or suggest your own! Be creative, have fun with it! Reply here with your glitch you'd like to inflict on your character, and go from there!

Lyn's going to get RENDER FOG that will drop his visibility distance to Silent Hill-like levels. |D WHICH WILL MAKE DOUBLY NO SENSE SINCE HIS PLANET IS A DESERT. Expect an extremely angry post ranting about HOW COMPLETELY DUMB THIS IS, HOW CAN THERE BE MIST ON A PLANET WITH NO SURFACE WATER, WHY IS THE SUN NOT GETTING RID OF IT, FUCK EVERYTHING.

We're not sure how actual legitimate mist could come into play as a glitch unless it was leaked off of another planet, so would we were wondering if something like static in the air - like TV static - might have the kind of effect you're wanting?

I think I'm going to go with objects in Rara's landscape glitching into intangibility at random- quest items included- so she has to either figure out a way to work around it or wait and be ~patient~ until they stop glitching.

LOAAR's imps get the values for spawn rates and exp switched. In other words, imps are now guaranteed to spawn in groups every time the game checks for a single mob respawn, but are worth less than a single exp each.

Players who step foot on LoFaH(aF) set off an invisible timer. When the timer ends, the game makes an off-kilter doppleganger of the player, just behind where the player's location at the timer end. It then resets. With each iteration, the previous copy is erased.

In effect, the player goes about their business, seemingly followed by a statue that looks like themself, but seems to take no action against them.

I'd like LOFAF to have Minecraft-type game errors -- so sometimes when you're there it just. . . blips! And you're stuck in a tree, or halfway in a wall or something.

NEW SOTG FORMAT

Since the game's activity level has slowed a bit, there doesn't seen to be much point in having a weekly SotG anymore - there just isn't as much to address! So, here is the new format we're proposing: we'd like to slow the SotG addresses to twice a month; but the two posts will address two different things. The first post will function similar to an activity check; however, there is no consequence if you don't respond to it! The threads you've done in the past month will be linked in the thread, and it will serve two purposes: 1) to catch other players up on developments they might have missed, and 2) for players who have not posted that month to have a place to say "hey, I couldn't find a place to throw my character into, does anyone want some tags?" and then things can be further arranged from there. We know several people have had times where they idle away from the game for a while and then come back completely lost, so hopefully these posts will help to avoid that! The second post will be more of a plotting meme of sorts - if your character is looking to have significant developments happen soon, it'll be a chance to ask for any assistance with those matters. It will also be used to gather information and opinions re: the current plot, and to potentially drop hints about what is happening as well. We never want to instate a traditional activity check, because SCRIB is supposed to be a more laid-back game and it's completely understandable if your inspiration comes and goes. However, it's not an excuse for total inactivity. So we hope to encourage more plotting and activity among our players, while still keeping the game casual. As always, questions and concerns are always welcome!

This sounds pretty cool! Will there be much difference between the plotting meme and the long-term plans thread, though? :|a Is it just that the plotting meme is meant to be for things happening soon, while the long-term plans is for stuff way in the future? If the idea isn't already to potentially mix those two things, maybe they could be combined together since it's the same basic idea, just in different timeframes.
